This is Donald (hi Donald!)
Donald’s journey began a couple of months ago in a neighborhood FAR away from Fremont (think eastern Canada!). In search of great glasses and unlucky with his neighborhood shops he turned to the internet, the internet brought him to us. He spotted this pair on our Flickr account:
And that was the beginning of the end of his journey. He called, we emailed, he shopped around, we talked, we emailed. And it became apparent that this was THE PAIR for Donald. We emailed him the size, he tried on similar sizes all the way over in a shop in Canada. It was a done deal, he signed a check, dropped it in the mail and it made its way here. And the glasses made their way there. Add some lenses and ta-da! Donald is a new man, Donald 2.0 so to speak.
Donald & His Eyes on Fremont frames!
Success! Donald has new frames, they were affordable, stylish and just what he wanted, and we have a new friend in our neighbor to the North, Canada!

There was a great article in the NY Times yesterday about the return of round sunglasses. We’ve been loving rounds for awhile now, so this isn’t news to us, but its an interesting investigation into the trend from square to round shapes that’s happening right now. We’ve got several round styles in the shop and we’re always on the lookout for more! Drop by and try some on!

Buddy Holly
People will always come in looking for “Buddy Holly Glasses”, which typically means they want a thick black plastic frame (see also: Elvis Costello)
John Lennon
Classic, simple round wire frames will never go out of style. Though many people wrongly associate this style with Harry Potter, it will always be around.
Elvis Costello
Elvis picked up where Buddy Holly left off and updated the style in the 70’s & 80’s. A little bit more square, but still high impact black plastic frames.
Elton John
Often times wild outlandish frames are referred to as being “Elton Johnesque”, and for good reason, he has never backed down from an over the top frame. Some people seek out the style, but most only wish they could pull it off.
(Secret: you can pull off whatever you want! Its all in the attitude).
Malcolm X
Classic, functional, immediately recognizable 1960’s style combination frame. Distinctively a vintage style, we still get combo frames from the same company who’s been making this style since 1947. Why change a good thing? (see also: Michael Douglas in Falling Down)
Michael Douglas (Falling Down)
One of Michael Douglas’ most iconic roles. His glasses helped define him as an everyman. His battle thru LA traffic was epic. (see also: Malcolm X)
Sally Jesse Raphael
Sally Jesse is the reason that so many women are afraid of red frames, her association with red frames has tainted a generation of glasses wearers. Don’t fear the red! Sally Jesse is just one of a million red frame wearers!
