Eye-Spy a familiar face on the cover of CityArts!

Its pretty cool for us to walk into our neighborhood coffee joint & pick up something local like CityArts to read while enjoying our latte. What’s even cooler is when we see one of our many talented customers grace the cover of it…

Tomo Nakayama on the December cover of City Arts Magazine, in his slick silver-grey eyeglasses.

You may already know of the multi-faceted Tomo Nakayama from local bands Grand Hallway or The Maldives.  On top of that, he was recently featured in the film Touchy Feely, alongside his musical talents (he composed & performs one of the tracks).  Director Lynn Shelton created a role just for Nakayama after seeing him perform live at the Fremont Abbey. Check him out sometime & see why we are so impressed!

How fitting our newest ad is up on the same page as his article too!

Customers around the Shop: Patti Warashina!

The marriage of two extraordinary forces is a splendid thing to witness. So when our longtime patron Patti chose this bold & animated new style by ROGER EYE DESIGNS, we were taken by the AWESOMENESS of it.  This is one of Rogers’ boldest models yet, but Patti’s confidence pulls it off eloquently.

By the way (if you didn’t already know), Patti Warashina has been an accomplished artist for decades.  Having taught ceramics at University of Washington for 25 years, she just finished a show at the Bellevue Arts Museum. Just like Patti in person, her work is quirky, delightful & fascinating.
If you missed it, check some of the showcased work here:

Customers around the Shop: Kaelen Q.

Kaelen found herself an extraordinary frame. The handmade, one-of-a-kind style is from a small eyewear collection in Poland called Auster.
We love the layers of green, ebony, and crystal framing her baby blues in this vintage inspired shape, but the cherry on top is definitely the rhinestone detail. Way to add a little sparkle to your everyday Kaelen!

Customers around the shop: Bonnie N.

Bonnie is on fire in her new Roger Eye Designs frame- one of our most popular collections!  Its a testament to how this frame line’s statement-making aesthetic is a perfect fit for our customers who are looking for something unique, yet natural.

Fresh in the Shop: French collection Roussilhe covers all bases

Another great collection has arrived and there’s lots of variety to be had from this wonderful French frame line.  Roussilhe’s collection offers style profiles all across the board: from colorful & contemporary, to classic, to striking but sophisticated- this frame line gives the consumer freedom to make the statement that suits them.  One of many reasons this was one of the biggest orders we placed at the Silmo Frame Expo this year!

This family owned establishment is so modest about it, we only just found out last week… but we are so proud to work with the Kala family & think they deserve the recognition. SO, congrats to a wonderful team- we love you guys!
