Eyes on Fremont giving thanks this holiday season

In light of the holiday season, Eyes on Fremont wanted to give back to some part of our community that deserves our recognition for what they have given. This year we would like to acknowledge the efforts and service of Veterans through SOLDIERS ANGELS

For each complete pair purchased at our shop starting December 15th through the end of the year, we are gratefully donating a pair of glasses to the Puget Sound chapter of Soldiers Angels, an organization that provides support & living services for the growing number of Veterans in our area.

It is a small gesture on our part, but one that we hope generates more awareness to a group of people who deserve our appreciation for giving so much for our community.

For more information about this organization, check out www.soldiersangels.org

Customers around the Shop: Bronte

Somewhere out there that tried & true, perennial classic eyewear design that was made for you awaits… Bronte certainly found her perfect one, don’t you agree?

For those of you on the lookout, we have a surplus of amazing frame styles in the shop at this moment- JUST SAYIN’ 😉

Getting to know your Optician: Bola A.!

How Long with Eyes on Fremont:

Bola has been with EOF since December 2008, just shy of 7 years. She started with our shop while in the Opticianry Program at Seattle Central College and was even a patron of EOF before she joined the team!

Her EOF “Specialty”:

Bola became opticiantry licensed after she graduated from SCC in 2009 & is pretty well-versed in finding the right personalized eyewear look for every person she assists. Because she enjoys fashion & stylish accessorizing, Bola is a perfect optician to work with if you need some eyewear fashion advice! She’s a skilled stylist with a lot of Optician knowledge to back it up, and works with our lens labs to order the best lenses for your frame choice & Rx needs.

Some of the things that help keep Bola feeling warm & fuzzy:

Maybe its her Southwest hometown roots that attracts her to rich & vibrant designs, natural forms, and warm climates- you could say Bola appreciates nature as an art form and integrates that into her personal aesthetic.
As a natural born sun seeker, she loves to travel to sunny places with her two teens, visiting the Southwest and places like the Hawaiian & Caribbean tropics whenever possible!  She loves colorful, earthy objects such as the green malachite necklace her aunt made for her.

MOSCOT EYWEAR X EYES ON FREMONT X LIFELONG AIDS ALLIANCE=

Great Glasses for every face benefitting community and supporting family-built business.

Moscot founder Hyman Moscot emigrated from Eastern Europe to Ellis Island in 1899 and began selling ready-made eyeglasses from a pushcart on Manhattan’s Lower Eastside.   By 1915, he opened up the premiere location of his family-owned retail shop at 94 Rivingtom St.
With three retail locations in New York, Moscot is now recognized as a global fashion brand, but remains, at heart, a neighborhood optical shop.
All of Moscot’s collections maintain a distinct aesthetic of that turn-of-the-century classic NYC style.

Lifelong was formed in 2001 through the merger of Chicken Soup Brigade and Northwest AIDS Foundation. From their beginnings in 1983, Lifelong has remained a leader in the fight against HIV/AIDS and continues to be a champion of healthy lives for all by helping people with chronic illnesses such as HIV/AIDS access heath insurance, housing, food and counseling.

Getting to know your Favorite EOF Optician: Jennifer!

How Long with Eyes on Fremont:

Jennifer has “graced” the front stage of Eyes on Fremont since 2011, but has been a staple in the Seattle Eyewear scene for over 2 decades! She has a lot of experience under her belt- from working alongside her father who is a long time local optometrist, to owning her own optical business, she’s a local favorite in the game. She has been a licensed optician since ’91… Boom!

Her EOF “Specialty”:

Jennifer has a natural born talent that is covetable to the Optical world- a rare gift of sincerely expressing her honest style opinions while weaving in technical optical knowledge. She gets right to the point and is always on point with what style best suits every face… An oracle and inspiration bringer of glasses! On top of that, she is basically the quintessential model for the iconic cat-eye look!

What’s cooking in the life of one of Seattle’s Infamous Opticians:

When Jennifer isn’t in the shop, dazzling & charming every person who walks in the door for a new set of cool eyewear, she is a busy kick-ass mom, wife, & kitchen aficionato! She effectively channels her Julia Child skills to keep her two daughters and husband well fed & happy, while maintaining her forever-young-at-heart enthusiasm for the music scene… a devout fan of the 80’s era alternative rock scene. Yup, she was grunge before you knew grunge was cool!
Jennifer is always planning the next sunny relaxation trip with the fam and is currently enjoying training her new puppy, Kitten!
