Fresh Arrivals Part II: That OTHER new Italian Collection… Essequadro!

Presenting Essequadro, the other new collection we picked up at this year’s Silmo Expo in Paris:
Essequadro’s aesthetic features familiar looks with a twist: these colors & shapes are tailored to express an edgy uniqueness without going over the top…
As with some of our other collections, these are sold as one-of-a-kind. Grab these limited edition frames while you can!

Eye-Spy a familiar face on the cover of CityArts!

Its pretty cool for us to walk into our neighborhood coffee joint & pick up something local like CityArts to read while enjoying our latte. What’s even cooler is when we see one of our many talented customers grace the cover of it…

Tomo Nakayama on the December cover of City Arts Magazine, in his slick silver-grey eyeglasses.

You may already know of the multi-faceted Tomo Nakayama from local bands Grand Hallway or The Maldives.  On top of that, he was recently featured in the film Touchy Feely, alongside his musical talents (he composed & performs one of the tracks).  Director Lynn Shelton created a role just for Nakayama after seeing him perform live at the Fremont Abbey. Check him out sometime & see why we are so impressed!

How fitting our newest ad is up on the same page as his article too!

Fresh arrivals: 2 New Italian-made collections are in & here’s the 1st one!

Just landed yesterday:  LUXOL DESIGN and ESSEQUADRO,  two eyewear collections from small factories in Italy… we are proud to be the 1st optical shop in the USA to be able to carry them!

Here are some highlights from the 1st collection, LUXOL

The acetate designs offer rich color options in matte finishes with layered accent colors:

Luxol also has some interesting colorful metal designs in both thinner eye wire…

& thicker sheet-cut designs

Stay tuned for Part II: Essequadro preview…!

The Magnificent Sayer in his new pair of Glasses

Meet Sayer Theiss. Apart from being one of the cutest kids ever in glasses, Sayer is also one heck of an adorable model for his talented mom’s art & apparel design business, klt:works.
Sayer has been wearing glasses since he was a wee bitty 3 year old… this is his 3rd pair from us!

This 5 1/2 year old is also a budding rockstar: learning & playing electric guitar is one of his current past times.  Sayer says the new glasses make him a better player… his guitar instructor not only agrees, but thinks his glasses make him “look like vintage Elton John”.

We are delighted to see how we can contribute to greatness in the making 🙂

Gobble Gobble Gobble- Have a Happy Thanksgiving Day

In observance of the Thanksgiving Day tradition, Eyes on Fremont will be closed this Thursday, November 28th so we can delight in feasting with friends and family. We hope you get to enjoy the same!
We WILL be back to normal business hours on Friday 10-6pm and Saturday 10-5pm.  Although we don’t participate in the Black Friday frenzy, expect it to be busy in the shop this weekend….

Customers around the Shop: Patti Warashina!

The marriage of two extraordinary forces is a splendid thing to witness. So when our longtime patron Patti chose this bold & animated new style by ROGER EYE DESIGNS, we were taken by the AWESOMENESS of it.  This is one of Rogers’ boldest models yet, but Patti’s confidence pulls it off eloquently.

By the way (if you didn’t already know), Patti Warashina has been an accomplished artist for decades.  Having taught ceramics at University of Washington for 25 years, she just finished a show at the Bellevue Arts Museum. Just like Patti in person, her work is quirky, delightful & fascinating.
If you missed it, check some of the showcased work here:
